Since the academic1979/1980 the following students from the Mathematical School Konstantin Velichkov have received special scholarships for exceptional achievements in the field of Mathematics: Petur Kopanov, Zdravko Stoenchev, Ivan Plachkov, Valentina Danailova, Krum Kratounchev, Svetlana Ousounova, Hristina Stefanova, Petya Petrova, Emiliya Gogova, Kostadin Petkov, Ivan Shangalova, Lyubmir Birov, Dimitur Dimitrov, Tsvyatko Zagorski, and Dimitur Gergishanov.

Our students traditionally do well and rank among the prize winners in competitions in Literature, History and Health Education as well as in sports volleyball, athletics, basketball etc. at the municipal and regional tournaments. All that demonstrates that our students receive well balanced education and instruction in all subjects. In other words our students are some of the most competitive high school graduates in our region.

This claim is also supported by the fact that a substantial part of the intellectuals in Pazardzhik and its region has studied at the Mathematical School Konstantin Velichkov. Our alumni have become computer programmers and engineers, university professors, teachers/some of them teach here/, lawyers, experts in the Ministry of Education or other ministries, engineers, doctors, military and police officers, actors, journalists, politicians, musicians and poets. Some of the most famous among them are: the corresponding member Prof. Petur Kenderov, Petur Kopanov, Stoyan Ganev, Sofia Dimitrov, Ilko Savov, Vasil Bozhinov, Eli Rakova, Stoyan Parpoulov, Stefan Apostolov, Krustyo Tankov, Dimitur Marin, Yanina Kasheva, Georgi Kadourin, Ivan Garelov, Diana Batsieva, Angel Vasilev, Georgi Kaminski, Sonya Kouzeva, Tereza Vuchkova etc.

It is indisputable, that the Mathematical School Konstantin Velichkov has been an excellent stepping stone to the institutions of higher education and the best proof of that is the large number our alumni who have graduated from universities and polytechnics. , - Almost 3000 of our about 3500 school graduates either have or are on their way to get their diplomas of higher education. From 1989 to 2000 the exact numbers are: 1141 graduates admitted to institutions of higher education out of a total of 1531. Preferred institutions among our students are: the University of Plovdiv chosen by 226 graduates, the Technical University - 223, Sofia University - 197, The University of National and World Economy - 81, the University of Architecture and Civil Construction-62 etc. Our graduates have attended some of the most prestigious universities in England, Germany, France and the USA. Our graduates are close to a hundred percent successful in continuing their education in institutions of higher learning. In mathematical terms the percent of our successfully continuing their education gravitates towards a hundred. All graduates of 2000 with major in Mathematics and Computer Science went to university /i.. 100%/, and the per cent for the whole batch of 2000 graduates is 87.5% and only 19 students didnt continue their education.

For its 32 years of existence the Mathematical School Konstantin Velichkov has proved itself to be one of the very best schools in the region of Pazardzhik. All these years the school has fulfilled the major purpose of its existence, included in the explanatory notes of the order to establish the school quoted on the page dedicated to our past. The student achievements mentioned above are largely due to the almost 200 teachers who have worked here and the obvious success was preceded by lots of sleepless nights and extra hours of hard work. Some of the most prominent teachers who used to work at the school in the past and whose efforts made the students achievements possible are: the first headmaster of the school Minko Minkov, his successor Ivan Kourtev, the deputy headmasters Lidiya Loupova and Yanka Kitova; the latter was awarded the order of "Cyril and Methodius" in the second degree, Lyudmila Arnaoudova and Petko Arnaoudov, Stoyanka Genova, Mitka Kourteva, Ivan Cholakova, Venelin Abadzhiev, Yanko Donkov, Stoyanka Kibritova, Dora Andreeva, Ekaterina Dineva, Angel Andonov, Zdravka Vulchinova, Ekaterina Nikolova, Nikola Haralampiev, Natasha Richeva, Mariya Zaharenko, Tatyana Yankova, Radka Dinova, Irina Aleksieva and many others.

At present 52 teachers are employed by the school, of whom one is a doctor of history- Ana Rabadzhiyska, one has the highest level of professional qualification - Mariya Gyulemetova, and many have acquired the second level of professional qualification- Tsvetana Ivan, Verka Tsoneva, Lidia Kotseva, Gina Krustanova, Dimitur Kralev, Reni Kormousheva, Tsvetka Andonova, Daniela Monova, Dora Doulcheva /senior expert in Mathematics and Computer Science at the Regional Inspectorate of the Ministry of Education/, Tsanko Bangyozov, Adelina Chopanova, Mariyana Tsvetanova and Margarita Ilieva.

Purvan Mironov was awarded the Medal of "Neofit Rilski" for his outstanding achievements in Pedagogy.

At present the efforts of the school management are focused on cultivating our students as good citizens. For the purpose we draw on our traditions but we also rely on new ways and means to meet the demands of the present day.
